First beachfront homes at Funnel Bay reflect value of estate

18 FEBRUARY 2017: With Stage 1 sales and construction at Funnel Bay well advanced, the first beachfront homes will soon take shape with construction getting under way on two beachfront properties.
Development Manager, Christie Leet, from PRDnationwide Whitsunday, said watching the first homes being built will be an exciting time for both the owners and the locals, who have kept a keen interest in the development of Airlie Beach’s newest suburb.
“With construction costs in excess of $2m and $3m, the first homes fronting onto the beach at Funnel Bay will reflect the value of beachfront estate,” he said. “Strong guidelines have been developed by North Queensland’s most experienced architect, Gary Hunt, ensuring property values are maintained for the owners.”
Chris Beckingham, who designed Qualia and most of the homes on Hamilton Island, has come out of retirement to design the first two homes.
Mr Leet said the quality of the homes, combined with an $850,000 investment in botanic gardens and landscaping, would guarantee land values were maintained and the natural beauty of the local area would only be enhanced.
